DarkWave Studio is a free, open source, Digital Audio Workstation for Windows. Featuring a modular Virtual Studio, Pattern Editor, Sequence Editor and Multitrack Hard Disk Recorder. It has support for VST/VSTi instrument and effect plugins. The virtual studio has a modular design allowing machines to be connected in an ad-hoc fashion. The pattern editor enables the quick creation and modification of patterns by clicking to add or delete notes and dragging notes to move or resize them. The sequence editor allows you to queue patterns to play for each control track in any arrangement, enabling reuse of patterns and quickly remixing projects. The Multitrack Hard Disk Recorder allows you to record the output of any machine and record it to 16-bit Integer of 32-bit Floating Point PCM encoded .WAV files for full-quality post-production editing or for conversion to MP3/FLAC/etc.

With Anvil Studio you can record and compose music as well as edit MIDI files in a standard, multi-track interface. The program also includes a wide library with samples, loops and audio effects, and even a piano roll to practice notes.
Anvil Studio may not seem easy to use at first sight, especially if you’re a newcomer to audio editors. Fortunately, the program is very well documented and the extensive, built-in help section will surely have the answer to all your questions. On the downside, Anvil Studio’s interface looks quite outdated and would benefit a lot from a complete redesign. With Anvil Studio you easily can compose, record and edit multi-track MIDI music.
CDex — многофункциональный аудио граббер, записывает аудиотреки компакт-дисков в виде обычных WAV-файлов или сжатых звуковых MP3 файлов. В состав программы входит MP3-декодер (на базе MPEG 1/2/3) и кодировщик LAME. Имеется встроенная поддержка файлов Ogg Vorbis. Последняя версия обладает улучшенной поддержкой USB-приводов с использованием библиотек Native NT SCSI Library.
Во время работы CDex может делать следующие операции: чтение Audio CD и запись в формате .wav; чтение Audio CD и запись в MP3 формат; чтение отдельного трека Audio CD и запись в сжатом формате (MP3) либо в .wav; конвертация .wav файлов в сжатый формат; конвертация сжатых аудио файлов в .wav.
Кроме того, программа имеет возможность записи с аналогового устройства, например, с микрофона. Она позволяет задать метод чтения CD, в том числе метод с коррекцией ошибок. В CDex можно задать нужный вам CD-привод (автоматически либо вручную), поменять левый и правый каналы воспроизведения, установить нормализацию уровня звука, выбрать директории и формат для записи файлов, указать и настроить необходимый формат записи, посмотреть параметры привода (скорость чтения, возможность записи и т.д.), выбрать локальную или удаленную информацию из базы данных CDDB. Утилита может работать в режиме редактора ID3 тегов.
